We're waiting for you to join our team of volunteers
Use part of your time for the benefit of those who need what you know or can do. Lend a hand to a fellow human being in need.
Social empathy is shown, among other things, by dedicating part of one’s own time for the benefit of others. Especially when that person is in a situation of special needs.
Empathy and civic spirit bring people closer to one another. Our colleagues, who perform volunteer work in our homes, are also guided by empathy and civic spirit. People who volunteer in our facilities enjoy the respect, support and collaboration of our staff. People with disabilities respect them and happily get involved in the activities they organize. We are glad and deeply grateful for the help we receive from them. Only this way can we be a mixed team and, at the same time, a complete one.
Albert Camus said in his novel “The Plague”: “it is a shame to be happy alone!” Think about where we would be now if we were guided by this idea. People need help. We need your help. Decide to get involved in supporting those around you. You can do more than you think for them. Don’t let someone else take the place you believe you deserve on the Alsterdorf team. We look forward with pleasure and great interest to you getting involved in one of the areas in which we work.
Support the Alsterdorf Association's projects
Support, through your donations, the improvement of living conditions for your fellow human beings for whom home means the institution where they are housed.
Improving the living conditions of institutionalized people with disabilities is one of the goals of our work.
Since the start of our activity, we have placed emphasis on the well-being of residents in our centers for people with disabilities. It’s hard to change something alone. That’s why we have needed, and continue to need, financial support.
You can choose to donate for the young people in the protected homes in Oradea or Săcueni.
If you’ve read about the home-based socio-educational assistance service offered to people with intellectual or psychiatric disabilities, you’ll have noticed that there are people with special needs whom the responsible authorities offer nothing to in this regard. The Alsterdorf Association, through its team of assistants, offers this service to people with disabilities who wish to leave institutions. The assistants offer their time and experience to those for whom state support has ended. The costs of this service are covered solely by donations from private individuals.
We urgently need your help. Donate so that our fellow human beings with special needs or in situations of risk can lead a life as close as possible to a normal one! Don’t be indifferent — make sure your goodwill is felt even by those who have never had anyone close to them! Help them as much as you can!

Donate clothes, shoes and other items
Help, with a small effort, so that institutionalized people with disabilities can have personal belongings too. Donate good items that you no longer use.
The people we care for have lived through times when they had nothing of their own. They had no personal belongings, not even personal hygiene items.
Since we’ve been managing the eight protected homes, we do everything possible so that each person has their own clothes, personal and seasonally appropriate footwear, personal hygiene and cleaning supplies, or other necessary items. However, we don’t always succeed.
In this way, we make an appeal to everyone who, for various reasons, no longer uses certain items, clothes or footwear that are still in good condition. Our fellow human beings in special situations need support in this area too. Only with your help can we give the people we care for a sense of worth and security — that certain things belong only to them, the feeling that they matter too.
These people are part of our lives. Our lives would be poorer without them. Make what you have matter for others too!
